Match Reports

Game 1 v Teddington 29th April. (Nice weather- Nice Oppo)

I didn't play but the scorebook says it all...we were crap.. Had to rely on a guest Owen Lambert (37), a colt Jack Coulthard -Little (15) and a man with 2 K's in his name (10) the only ones to reach double figures! One wicket for Talpe in what was clearly a short match...presumably a mis-match by the conference... (got to blame someone) and the apparent highlight was play being interrupted by a herd of deer...

Game 2 v Leatherhead & Cobham (Weather Ok - Nice Oppo)

A bit better, a few more runs on the stats board! First two stands of 58 and 60 and at 120 for 1 we were looking ok for a decent score...but in true lemmings style the inevitable and infamous chadwick collapse and we were done for 162 for 9 off 40

Our bowlers kindly giving their opening chaps a bit of batting practice as we politely allowed them to carry their bats to victory... aren't we nice?.... nope still crap.

Game 3 v Sutton (Weather perfect - Our oldest adversaries the perfect hosts as always, great Tea, forgot to say thanks! ..sorry)

Ah, a bit of experience back in the bowling attack as Fawcett with 3 wkts leaps into the lead of the bowling table with Big Joe Griffith close behind on 2.

Griffith also on song with the bat with a maiden 50 still there at the end on 54 no. Having got them a bit wobbly on 150 for 6, stand in skipper GT decided to give everyone bar the tea lady a bowl as their "tail" certainly wagged and smacked us around, ending on 245 for 9 in the allotted 40 overs. Still we like a good spanking ourselves (or is that just me) and we made a fist of it. Some rubbish LBW decisions helped their cause (back to umpire skool lads) But with opener Rocky holding up one end and a few steady partnerships we were in with a shout, sadly Rocky (b 38) tumbled and it was down to Joe, a bit of excitement as he amassed an 8th wkt stand of 59 with Guest Nick Fordham (st 12) but with 6 overs and 66 runs needed we capitulated all out for 180.

Now let me talk you through that perfect "yorker" for my 3rd wkt...
